Applications for language courses in Canada should generally be made at least 2-3 months before the course starts. However, for popular semesters or intensive courses, it is recommended that you apply earlier.

Foreign language courses that you can apply for language education in Canada usually specify a specific application date.

Application and admission requirements for Canadian language schools may vary by school and program, but here are some common requirements:

  1. Age Limit : Most language schools require a minimum age of 16 or 18 years old.

  2. Application Form : Applicants must fill out the school's application form. This form usually includes questions about personal information, educational background, and language skills.

  3. Passport and Visa : International students must have a valid passport and, if required, an appropriate student visa.

  4. Language Proficiency : Some programs may require a language proficiency test to determine a student's level of English or French language proficiency. Some schools offer beginner to advanced levels and may not require a language proficiency test.

  5. Tuition Fee : A tuition fee is required for Canadian language school programs. Some schools may request a deposit at the time of registration.

  6. Financial Proof : The student may be required to provide financial evidence that demonstrates that they can cover the costs of studying and living in Canada.

  7. Health Insurance : Students are required to have valid health insurance for the duration of their stay in Canada.

  8. Letter of Intent : Some Canadian language schools may require a letter of intent in which the student explains his or her reasons for wanting to study and his or her goals.

Since the application process may vary depending on the school and the program chosen, we recommend that you speak to our expert staff for the school you are interested in.

Canadian language schools do not provide work permits to international students while they are receiving language education in Canada. Students who come to Canada to receive language education cannot have a work permit. International students who want to receive a work permit must be enrolled in a higher education institution in Canada or participate in a certificate or vocational training program after completing language education.

Students enrolled in university programs, master's programs or certificate courses may be allowed to work part-time for up to 20 hours per week during their studies. However, students studying at Canadian language schools are not eligible for this right. Students are expected to focus solely on their studies during the language school period and students who want to work in Canada may consider transferring to an academic program.

A Canadian language school visa, also known as a "Study Permit", is issued to students who wish to receive language training. This visa is required for students who will be attending a language program in Canada for more than six months. For programs of less than six months, only a visitor visa is sufficient.
