If you have received your high school education abroad starting from the first grade and your diploma is an overseas high school diploma, you will be exempt from the Central Placement Exam in Turkey.

As an international student, if you are participating in a student exchange program, you will need to apply to the institution you are targeting to receive high school education in the U.S. Each high school has different application requirements, but the documents listed below are required by each institution:

• Motivation letter / Letter of intent (A letter explaining why you want to receive a high school education in the United States)

• Proof of financial ability (financial evidence/documents that prove you can cover the expenses during your studies in the US)
• Language Proficiency Certificate (TOEFL, IELTS etc. internationally recognized exams)
• Diploma/Transcript (Transcript of Records)
• Vaccination records

In addition, some schools may request essays, teacher references, or interviews from students.

After completing the application process and receiving acceptance, you can apply for your visa.

There are three different accommodation options for international students who want to receive high school education in the United States. The first of these options is homestay accommodation, which will accelerate students' adaptation to the country and culture. With the homestay option, you can stay in single or double rooms. You can also benefit from this type of accommodation with full board, single meal service or no meal service.

Another option that students often prefer is student dormitories. You can stay in single or double rooms according to your budget; you can evaluate shared or private bathroom and kitchen options. Another important feature of dormitories located close to campuses is that they make it easier to adapt to social environments and offer a more active life on campus. With this accommodation option, you can make friends with many people from different nations and explore America with them.

Renting a room or a house is an alternative option that you can consider for accommodation. It offers a much more comfortable living opportunity than the first two types of accommodation, but renting a house/room can be a much more expensive option than the previous options. It is not recommended for students who will study abroad to consider this option in the early stages of their education.

In order to obtain a US high school visa, an F1 student visa application is required.
