In addition, when applying to language schools in the United States, students are usually asked to have health insurance that will be valid for the duration of their education. American language schools do not grant work permits to students. Students receiving language education in the United States with an F-1 Student Visa may only be allowed to work on campus for limited hours during their education. Since language schools are generally not located on university campuses, this rule does not apply to students receiving language education.

However, students who enroll in a university program after language education and continue this education with an F-1 visa can work up to 20 hours per week on university campuses. Off-campus work permits are only possible under certain conditions and with special permissions from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Therefore, it is important for students who plan to study language in the United States not to consider working during their education and to make their financial plans accordingly.

Job opportunities for language school students in the United States are generally limited, as students studying on an F-1 Student Visa have very limited work rights. However, there are some opportunities under certain conditions:

• On-Campus Job Opportunities

Students studying on an F-1 visa may be allowed to work on campus for up to 20 hours per week if they are studying on a university or college campus. However, this option is generally not available to language school students, as most language schools are independent or not directly affiliated with universities.

• OPT (Optional Practical Training) and CPT (Curricular Practical Training)

OPT and CPT programs are generally available to university students. However, if you transfer to a university or graduate program in the United States after completing your language education, you can get a work permit under these programs. These opportunities are not available during language school education.

• Volunteer Work and Internships

Although not paid, some language schools or organizations may offer students volunteer or internship opportunities. Volunteering can be a good way to gain experience and practice the language while studying in the United States.

• Transition to Certificate Programs

After completing your language training, you may be able to take short-term certification programs in specific occupations and access limited job opportunities through these programs. However, transferring to such programs may be subject to additional work permit requirements.

• Job Opportunities in Your Country of Origin

After language training, some students can use the language skills they learned in the United States to find jobs in their own countries at international firms or US-based companies. Developing your professional skills and building a network while receiving language training can pave the way for such opportunities.

• Freelance Work (Freelance Jobs)

Freelancing while studying a language is an option, although it is legally restricted within the United States, working on projects for your home country through digital platforms. However, it is illegal to do work that requires a work permit within the United States.

Job opportunities for language school students in the United States are quite limited. If you plan to work while studying, it is important to do your financial planning in advance, taking into account legal requirements and restrictions.
